Welcome to Local Color ~

Ondine & Francesca opened Local Color on Highway One in Big Sur in July, 2000. The gallery dedicated to Big Sur and Central Coast local artists. This area has many talented professional craftsmen who do excellent work with jewelry, Big Sur jade, wood sculptures, tie-dyed clothes, paintings, glass, and so much more than we have room to list here! In an effort to give them a place to show off their talents, we created the Local Color gallery.

The store is a menagerie of original Big Sur and Central Coast art that we are proud to present to you. Since it's difficult for a lot of customers to get to our physical store, we have created a web site where you can take a tour of our gallery and contact us if you see something you like.

Most of the photos you see are taken in our live store, so in addition to our galleries, you might see something in the background you are interested in as well. Let us know! We would be more than happy to help connect you with the art that connects with you. Local Color hosts over 140 local artists, many of which are exclusive to Local Color.
